When 19-year-old Colby Swift took the stage on American Idol, something crazy happened.
Colby had never had a voice lesson or performed in front of a big crowd. He said he had never even left Texas, where he was born and raised. Still, when he sang “Before the Next Teardrop Falls” by Freddy Fender, the judges were blown away
Luke Bryan, one of the judges on Idol, felt like he knew the young country singer who was trying to make it big. “Well, I don’t think a 19-year-old kid has ever come in here who was more like me,” he said.
When Bryan looked at Colby’s worn-out shoes, he asked him a strange question. He asked Colby, “What size shoe do you wear?”
When Byran took his boots off and gave them to the star-struck young cowboy, the crowd couldn’t believe it.
